Have you noticed that cats love boxes but hate doors? The smaller the box the better, they’ll find a way to get settled. But do not under any circumstance put a cat in a room and close the door.
Being a cat person means that you think of yourself as independent and nonchalant. I always live in places where I can stand in one spot and see everything—open, without stairs. I sleep under at least a sheet even in heat waves. In winter, heavy blankets—nothing exposed, not even an ear.
The trick to comfort is knowing where all the edges are, so you can push out against them.
